The name of ITTO RYU DOJO is not to be confused with a Kendo style also called ‘ITTO RYU’.   The name of this dojo (or trainingschool) is refering in a symbolic way to one sword (i-to), in this case one person, who was, and still is the driving force behind this Dojo.

The symbol pictured beneath is the formal crest of this Dojo.  The “Aoi Go Mon” (A circle with three leaves of bleu-green) was the Jô-Mon (main crest) of the TOKUGAWA dynasty.   (See also Tamiya Ryu Iai-section.)

Most people know Belgium for its Beer, its Wafles, its Fries, its Chocolate, its Manneken Pis, etc...

But did you know about the Japanese tower, the Atomium or the Chinese paviljon ?

The meaning of this website is to promote IAIDO and JODO as part of Japanese Culture and to make contact with individuals or groups that share the same interests.  This way, they can associate with each other in friendship, exchange experiences and persue the development of traditional Japanese martial Arts.
