As the English appreciated the cover X-Beach offered from Turkish shellfire, the construction of a series of terraces was begun in autumn. The solid dugouts were mainly meant as winter accomodation for officers, which was the reason the troops soon started talking about 'Officers' Walk'. Apart from the now overgrown terraces, nothing much of it is left.
